The Career Transitions Center of Chicago (CTC) is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization providing employment support services, including coaching and programming, for both recent college graduates and mid-career professionals. CTC services include in person coaching and virtual coaching. Currently serving 300 clients annually, CTC seeks to increase that number by 60% over the next three years.
The Program and Coaching Director is responsible for coordination of volunteer coaches, career programming for in person and virtual clients, as well as business development for outplacement and customized training. Works closely with the executive director, program committee, coaches, speakers and sponsoring organizations. In addition, the Program Director is responsible for program-related communications/marketing in collaboration with executive director. Requires an entrepreneurial mindset, vision, strong relationship and communications skills. Strategic understanding of social media and experience with e-learning strongly desired.
Essential Job Functions:
Screening; sourcing; supervision; skills development of 45 volunteer coaches and 15 volunteer program facilitators.
Plans, organizes and markets CTC programs delivered by volunteers, approximately 20 per month.
Introduction of new programs (preferably revenue generating or underwritten) aligned with CTC’s mission.
Program design and delivery for sponsoring organizations (requires occasional evenings and weekends).
Marketing of programs to sponsoring organizations and the public using email, internet, and social media, such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.
Supervises 2-3 interns from Adler University who coordinate Social Media and Constituent E-Newsletters.
Business Development for CTC’s Workplace Solutions Program (Outplacement and Customize Training).
Assists with planning of events, such as volunteer appreciation events, holiday open house/client success celebration and fundraiser.
Some offsite programming required, which involves City and Suburban travel.

Two years of prior experience in coaching college students or professionals.
Experience desirable in the following:
Corporate training and development.
Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in the use of MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Familiarity with data entry in Access.
Proficient user of LinkedIn and social media.
Ability to manage multiple activities concurrently.
Must be able to operate in a collaborative team environment.
High energy and strong customer service focus.
