The Development Associate will play a key role on the Advancement Team, supporting the work in all Corporate, Foundation, and Special Event fundraising programs. The position reports to the Manager of Corporate and Foundation Relations, and supports the work of the Vice President of Advancement, Director of Mentor and Sponsor Relations, and the Knowledge Management Associate. The individual who holds this position exemplifies the LINK Unlimited Scholars’ mission, vision, and values and acts in accordance with all policies and procedures of the organization.
-Work in partnership with front line fundraisers on lead letter/solicitation strategies.
-Provide assistance with the writing, editing, and formatting of proposals, reports, prospect research and correspondence.
-Oversee administration of gift planning documentation. Collaborate with the gift officers to assist in the execution of strategies to build our base of grateful patient prospects
-Provide assistance to leadership volunteers and donors as the first point of contact with the Advancement team.
-Develop an understanding of current themes and LINK Unlimited Scholars’ priorities in assisting with the solicitation, cultivation, stewardship of donors.
-Collaborate with the Advancement Team to support all Giving events, mailings, responses, and preparing event materials.
-Assist with the preparation and distribution of giving reports, prospect lists, solicitation materials related to the Advancement Team's fundraising activities
-Collaborate with the Prospect Management and Events Team to assist with the preparation of post event data on attendees related to the team's events
-Ability to evening and weekend events
-Three years of experience in the Development field is preferred
-Demonstrated experience working with databases (Donor Perfect and Salesforce preferred)
-Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to draft correspondence and other materials suitable for a sophisticated audience with a minimum of supervision
-Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative work style
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects
-Careful attention to details and a commitment to quality and timeliness in all aspects of work
-Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Power Point
-Reliability, flexibility and sensitivity to issues of confidentiality
-Ability to work occasional evening events
-Ability to interface effectively with prospects, donors, faculty and volunteer leaders
