VP, Chief Resource Development Officer
The purpose of this position is to drive the Agency's strategic sustainability goals through development of strong and productive relationships with a broad range of external stakeholders. This will be achieved through establishment of annual giving, capital and other fundraising goals, event planning, grant development, endowment growth, volunteerism and in-kind support. The CDRO will do this through both successful individual fundraising and support of their team in meeting Agency development goals.
Develops and implements comprehensive stewardship strategies to maintain strong positive relations with individual, corporate and foundation donors
Works with Board Development Committee and executive management team to establish annual goals.
Maximizes development, recruitment, retention and expansion of volunteer opportunities throughout the organization.
Leads all agency fundraising events directly or through designee, including coordination with lay leadership, board/staff committees, staff and auxiliaries.
Advises, educates and supports board of directors on all matters related to resource development. Provides training and support to board members in meeting their personal development commitments.
Leads major capital project fundraising projects, from project planning through successful completion.
Cultivates and closes major gifts consistent with annual development plan and Agency strategic objectives.
Leads by example with provision of strong and consistent stewardship for all donors, volunteers and other stakeholders.
Coordinates annual fundraising plan with JUF associates to ensure compliance with affiliate agreement guidelines.
Serves as primary liaison (directly or through a designee) with agency auxiliaries, advisory councils and all other external funding support entities. Ensures that external partners comply with agency, JUF standards and regulatory requirements.
Serves as primary liaison with JUF Legacies and Endowment Department and JCFS Endowment Foundation board.
Maximizes in-kind â giving programs to complement direct financial support
Reporting and Compliance
Ensures accurate tracking and documentation of all contributions (in kind and monetary) to JCFS.
Bachelors degree required - Masters in Philanthropy, Social Work, Business or related graduate degree preferred.
7+ years of fundraising experience in roles demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility.
Demonstrated experience in developing and directing major multi-year campaigns.
Proven ability to build strong relationships across a wide variety of individuals, groups and Foundations.
Demonstrated ability in individual fundraising and closing major gifts.
Strong oral and written presentation skills.
Proven ability to lead a cross-functional team.
Knowledge and understanding of diverse local Jewish community strongly preferred.
