The Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), interviews clients and their families and coordinates and plans programs and activities to meet their social and emotional needs. Provides psychotherapy or counseling to individuals, groups, couples, or families.
The LCSW is responsible primarily for providing counseling to clients and walk-in clients. The LCSW is the primary interface for access services such as peer/family counseling and support, screening, assessment, brief treatment, consultative services, education and engagement, linkages, outreach and advocacy. The LCSW will sit down one-on-one with patients and offer mental health therapy to help them improve the quality of their lives. The LCSW will provide direct support and advocacy services geared to enhancing the development, problem-solving, and coping capacities of people; provide resources and services to people; linking people with systems that provide them with resources, services, and opportunities; information and referrals to outside agencies as appropriate.
Experience & Training
Masters’ Degree in counseling, psychology or social work.
Licensed and certified in the State of Illinois to practice clinical social work.
Two - four years of experience in the field or a related area, clinical psychology preferred.
Clinical psychosocial diagnosis experience involving direct patient care along with consultation, evaluation and research.
Experience working with underserved, diverse and transient populations.
Experience working with patients who have occurring mental health, substance abuse, and social & physical health challenges.
Accurate data entry skills with tracking, and organization of case management and care coordination programs.
