About Center of Concern
The mission of the Center of Concern is to provide Housing Solutions, Support Services and Counseling for seniors, the disabled, and others in need enabling them to live with dignity and independence. The Center of Concern has assisted thousands of area residents overcome hardships through effective case management practices, significant partnerships, and over 300 active volunteers. The Center was organized in 1978 as a place where individuals could come to talk about their problems and find help in solving them. Focusing first on seniors and their unique issues, the Center’s staff soon found that the escalating cost of housing was central to the problems of so many in the community. Many seniors struggled to maintain their homes. Our social service workers provide counseling, ongoing case management and effective referrals to internal/external resources to enable the over 50 population to maintain their independence with dignity. Our housing Case Managers provide solutions to prevent homelessness, offer affordable Home Sharing options and a Rapid Re-Housing program for the homeless. Please consider joining the Center of Concern’s small dynamic team helping vulnerable populations living in suburban Cook County.
