Serves as career planning representative to adult clients receiving occupational, vocational, employment or training services pursuant to the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). In this capacity representative may perform a number of activities such as: making determinations regarding client eligibility; assessing clients interests and capabilities; developing employment plans; referring clients to other Illinois workNet Center partners and community services; evaluating clients needs for employment readiness training; assisting clients progress toward job placement; authorizing training awards; monitoring progress towards desired employment outcome; facilitation of workshops and group activities; and maintaining computerized tracking of clients activities.
Requirements: associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience desirable in area’s related to counseling practices, job readiness evaluation techniques, goal setting and analysis with an ability to apply knowledge to individual circumstances, and direct individual or group instruction. Applicants should be able to work independently and in a team environment, complete duties in a timely and efficient manner, compile and report data and possess analytical and problem solving skills along with sufficient computer skills. Applicants must have a valid Illinois driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between office locations in Elgin, North Aurora/Batavia and Yorkville. Bi-lingual in Spanish/English is a plus. Position is grant funded. Application deadline: Open until filled.
