The Adult/Adolescent Counseling Team Coordinator leads PEER’s outpatient substance abuse treatment programs for teens and adults in our Evanston and Glenview offices and area schools. This Coordinator is responsible for supervising counseling staff and overseeing all direct client services, recommending clinical goals and policies and coordinating their implementation, identifying operational problems and developing and recommending systems to address them, reviewing all clinical recordkeeping, and preparing clinical and administrative management reports. Member of the agency's Leadership Team. Reports to the Clinical Director.
Formulates and recommends clinical goals and policies and coordinates their implementation through the activities of the counseling staff.
Supervises all adult and adolescent counseling staff in clinical service delivery and documentation, reviewing client files for accuracy and completeness of information, submitting staff evaluations to the Clinical Director.
Develops appropriate clinical information and service delivery systems to conform to client and agency needs.
Schedules and conducts staff meetings and trainings for the adult and adolescent program.
Develops community resources and implements a workable information and referral system between community social service agencies and PEER Services.
Conducts weekly team case review sessions.
Manages toxicology contract and ensures that staff are storing and processing specimens accurately.
Assists in setting agency goals and procedures, developing and implementing agency activities; evaluating agency performance; and recommending changes in procedures to increase the quality of care and program efficiency.
Participates in training; presents in-service sessions as requested; participates in the planning and evaluation of agency training; Provides individual, group, couples and crisis counseling as needed.
Understands and applies confidentiality laws to daily practice; adjusts working hours to meet program needs; accurately reports time and activities; represents the program with community groups as assigned.
Assists the Clinical Director in auditing all clinical files. Coordinates and develops agency-wide trainings based on findings to ensure compliance.
Other duties as assigned by the Clinical and/or Executive Director.
We are looking for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a minimum of 1-2 years managing clinicians and clinical programs and a minimum of 2-5 years direct clinical experience with both adolescents and adults.
Important skills include the ability to work well with diverse staff and clients, ability to engage and retain clients in services and to ability to coach team members in these areas.
Must be comfortable with electronic health record documentation and documentation reviews and must be familiar with financial registration process for patients.
Must have a car and work at both Evanston and Glenview sites each week.
Professional Qualifications:Documented competency in individual, group, couples and crisis counseling; working knowledge of the causes and treatment of substance abusers; working knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations dictating substance abuse treatment; written and verbal communication skills; prior experience in managing people; and the ability to produce reports and work with numbers and systems.
