Erie Family Health Centers is looking for an independent, focused and responsible individual to join our Revenue Cycle Management Team. The Patient Account Representative assists with following-up on patient and insurance balances as assigned, payment posting, phone, and mail.
Perform daily follow up activities on unpaid claims
Process insurance carrier denials and zero paid claims
Process incoming calls, emails and fax request
Post payments on the assigned payment posting day
Must have an extensive knowledge of Commercial, Manage Care, Medicaid and Medicare billing guidelines
Experience with EDI processing
Experience with EOP/EOB terminology, X12 codes and appropriate processing
High School and/or GED completion required
Certified in billing and coding, strongly preferred
Three or more years' experience in Medical Billing, Medical Terminology, and/or Coding
Candidate must have excellent customer service, interpersonal, and organizational skills; outstanding oral and written communication skills
Ability to communicate effectively in both English and Spanish, strongly preferred
