Thresholds Youth Services is looking to hire an experienced and dedicated Program Director for its flagship Young Adult Program.
The Young Adult Program (YAP) is the largest program in Thresholds, and has been featured in books and scholarly journals describing best practices for emerging adults with mental health needs. The Director of Youth Residential Services oversees a comprehensive array of residential, transitional living, high school, and other services for young adults with serious mental health needs and traumatic backgrounds. The Director or Youth Residential Services supervises several Assistant Program Directors and other managers, and is responsible for almost 100 staff, financial, clinical, physical space, and all other areas related to the day to day functioning of YAP and its 8 sites.
The Director of Youth Residential services reports to the Senior Director of Youth Services, and is part of the Thresholds leadership. They take part in both internal and external committees to advance the support of our members, build partnerships, and implement innovative strategies.
The Director of Youth Residential Services must have demonstrated excellent communication and supervisory skills, and the talent to manage a large, multi-faceted program, along with attention to detail. Must have an LCSW or LCPC + 5 years of supervisory experience.
Experience with DCFS-based programs strongly preferred.

A Masters degree in psychology, social work, or related field required.
Five (5) years of experience working with persons diagnosed with mental illness preferred.
Ability to synthesize and summarize information and make judgments regarding member care.
Must communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in order to provide information to members and healthcare personnel.
Demonstrated ability to function independently and solve problems.
Knowledge of the mental health care system and ability to adapt to constant changes.
Computer skills required; knowledge of database functions and maintenance necessary.
Daily access to a personal vehicle is required. Must obtain and maintain $100,000/$300,000/$100,000 liability insurance coverage. Subject to validation every six months.
May be required to provide transportation for members of the program using a Thresholds provided vehicle or personal vehicle. Must be 23 years of age and must meet all insurance carrier's requirements. Subject to annual Department of Motor Vehicles license verification.
LCSW or LCPC require.
Current and valid driver's license required.
