1. Provides expertise in the area of Development and is primarily responsible for assisting in the identification, cultivation and face to face solicitation of individual, corporate and foundation donors securing major donations at the $25,000+ level in Lake County. Targeting two to four cultivation visits and two to four major donor visits per month. Serves as a member of the Development Department management team. 2. Works independently and consistently exercises discretion and sound judgment in helping to plan, oversee and evaluate Catholic Charities' overall fund raising activities in Lake County. Manages measurable donor/prospect report tracking for Lake County donors. 3. Serves as staff liaison to the Women's Board in Lake County and Art of Caring Committee, maintaining relationships and advising on all aspects of fund raising and volunteer activities as well as communicating information concerning Catholic Charities program needs and policies. Oversees the finances of the committee. 4. Serves as staff liaison to the Catholic Charities Golf Classic Committee and assists with all aspects of the event including maintaining relationships and advising on volunteer activities. 5. Serves as staff liaison on all special event committees and assists them in their efforts to increase giving in Lake County. Required to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of the special events. 6. Acts as advisor on appropriate donor identification and building relationships, accurate handling of donations, and compliance with agency guidelines and procedures to various program departments in Lake County. 7. Responsible for creating an annual business plan and budget and regularly monitors expenditures. 8. Assists with financial support for the food pantry, clothing and in-kind program drives hosted by the Women's Board, recruits volunteers and secures auction and raffle donations for all fund-raising events as needed. 9. Prepares and presents a Development Report at the Lake County Regional Board meetings as well as engages members in Lake County fund-raising. Assists in special projects as needed. 10. Responsible for the hiring, coaching, evaluating and the professional development of staff.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Preferred: Master's degree
Minimum: Bachelor's Degree
Preferred: 10+ years Fundraising and event planning experience with a proven record of success in face to face solicitations; Ability to develop and maintain budgets; Successful sales/fund raising record of closing gifts of $25,000+; Exceptional skills in building and sustaining individual donor, corporate and foundation relationships
Minimum: 7-10 years Experience with securing support through gifts from individuals, corporation, and charitable foundation sources; Proficient at engaging the community to support projects. Excellent knowledge of the Lake County area.
