The JCFS Chicago Access Clinician is responsible for responding to inquiries, assessing need, determining the most appropriate resources and conducting initial intakes when indicated for all JCFS Chicago programs and services.

ABOUT THE POSITION:
Responds in an appropriate manner to all inquiries including providing clear and timely follow up, providing appropriate referrals or linkages to internal and external resources, conducting initial intakes when indicated, and seeking consultation as needed
Creates a warm welcoming reception for all callers
Assesses callers’ needs accurately and formulates an understanding of callers’ situations
Develops expertise in both the internal and external resources.
Program and Agency Support
Functions as an active team member, collaborating to identify the best resources for an inquiry
Functions as a strong collaborator with agency staff and community resources
Collaborates with other agency personnel, the Access Supervisor and the Access Director or appropriate specialists on inquiry specific issues
Functions as a liaison for Access with designated JCFS Chicago programs
Participates in agency staff development programs, professional group seminars or conferences to increase professional knowledge
Participates on Agency committees as indicated
Performs clinical and non-clinical administrative duties as required by the Agency, including written intake documentation within the required time frames.
Utilizes technology in an effective manner to access and organize resources
Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field from an accredited program
Speaks and writes clearly and informatively with a diverse range of stakeholders
Excellent customer service skills
Prioritizes, plans, and manages work activities in a strategic and thoughtful manner
Demonstrated ability to remain calm while maintaining an understanding and supportive demeanor
Ability to travel occasionally to other local JCFS locations
Ability to occasionally accommodate a client with an early morning or early evening intake appointment
Bilingual in English/Spanish (spoken) beneficial but not required; for occasional use
