General Summary: The Development Coordinator is in a position to make a lasting impact on serving our veterans. This development position, reporting to the Development Officer, is responsible for assisting with donor recognition, relations, reporting, and research. The Development Coordinator should represent MSHV’s core values; emphasizing compassion, dedication, and a “can-do” attitude. The position will be responsible to support the Development Office in the following areas: database management, donor recognition and engagement, as well as reporting.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Provide all administrative support to the Development Office with careful attention to detail.
Handle department calls and emails.
Collaboratively work with all departments at MSHV to capture and communicate effectively the breadth of work with veterans.
Coordinate all donor reports and research for development team.
Calendar management for Development Office.
Process all donations; and ensure attention to detail by timely and thoughtful donor recognition.
Provide team with appropriate information for meetings.
Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple tasks at the same time with initiative and follow through.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced team environment with a level of flexibility and a can do attitude.
Prepare and maintain accurate fiscal recording as required.

Bachelor’s Degree in Nonprofit Management, Social Services, or related studies preferred.
3 to 5 years of experience in development (or related skill set).
Veteran status a plus.
CRM database and data entry experience (will train in Donor View software used).
Exceptional communication and problem solving skills; adept at taking initiative to seek out resources and solutions.
Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects. Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Competent in Microsoft Office: including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Must be available for occasional evening/weekend hours as needed.
