For forty years, AHS has provided quality and compassionate services to immigrants, refugees, and other underserved communities in the Chicago area. AmeriCorps members serve in diverse positions across the agency, providing valuable direct services in education, health care, and employment.
If you are interested in making a difference while also gaining unique professional and personal experiences, then consider a year with the AHS AmeriCorps Program!
Manage a caseload of referred clients from DHS, helping them find and maintain full-time employment
Create individual employment plans that address employment barriers, goals, and potential opportunities
Guide clients in the 2-week long Job Readiness Training program by providing skill-building services
Advocate for clients with all internal/external stakeholders, including employers
Maintain client records and create periodic reports on client progress
Start and end dates:
September 2019 - August 2020
Full time (37-40 hours/week)
- $15,000 stipend (pre-tax)

- Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution and customer service
