Neopolitan Lighthouse is seeking a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or a Licensed Psychologist who will work on-site at the agency’s shelter facility for approximately 10-15 hours per week providing therapy services to adults and children in the Domestic Violence Shelter Program and the Outreach Program. The adults receiving these services will be survivors of domestic violence who have either self-identified or have been identified by staff as being individuals who could benefit from receiving mental health therapy or substance abuse services. The children receiving these services will be witnesses and/or survivors of domestic violence who are accompanying their non-offending parent in the Shelter Program. The children receiving these services will also be youth who have been identified by their parents or identified by staff as being individuals who could benefit from receiving mental health therapy. The therapist will provide therapy services for children in order to address their behavioral, social, emotional, and educational concerns.
The therapist will provide evaluations and assessments, short-term therapy services, treatment plans, collaborative case management/case consultations, staff consultations, and other trauma-informed services. The therapist will utilize a tool for providing mental health and substance abuse assessments, and will provide new clients with mental health assessments in order to assess their emotional and psychological well-being and identify any needs they may have. The therapist will also maintain a database of service providers that specialize in various issues relating to mental health (i.e. substance abuse, sexual assault, PTSD, learning disabilities, anxiety, etc.), and will provide clients with referrals and linkage as needed. For clients who are in need of long-term therapy, the therapist will provide them with information/referrals, advocacy and linkage to longer-term therapy services. This is an hourly contractual position.
Evaluations/assessments: Provide social, psychological, psychosocial, and psychiatric evaluations/assessments of adults and children exhibiting emotional and behavioral disturbances due to the domestic violence that they witnessed or experienced.
Therapy: Conduct individual adult and child therapy sessions, as well as family therapy sessions for parents and their children.
Treatment Plans: Develop treatment plans in order to address the presenting issues and needs of each adult and child seen.
Collaborative Case Management/Case Consultations: Provide collaborative case management and case consultations with program staff regarding evaluations, therapy services, challenges, and treatment plans for adult and child clients. Case consultations may also include adult clients, or parents and their children when appropriate.
Staff Consultations: Provide general consultation with program staff to provide expertise and guidance on assisting children with emotional, physical, social, educational, and/or behavioral concerns at staff meetings.
Trauma-Informed Services: Provide evidence-based services in a trauma-informed manner.
Provide other services to promote client-wellbeing.
The selected candidate will work approximately 10-15 hours per week at a rate of $40.00 - $45.00 per hour. Candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends, and attend monthly staff meetings.
