Clinical Director Job Description and Expectations
The primary responsibility of the Clinical Director is to provide direct clinical services and supervision for clinical programming, staff and interns. In addition, the Clinical Director works to support the mission and values of Haven Youth and Family Services by participating in and leading programs, providing community education, on-call housing coverage and accepting additional responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director.

Hours: 37.5 hours (9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. may require evenings) Monday-Friday
The Clinical Director (CD) will be responsible for providing direct services to clients through family, group and/or individual therapy.
The CD will engage in community outreach services when necessary.
The CD will maintain caseload of approximately 8-10 clients.
The CD provides coverage for on-call housing program bimonthly.
The Clinical Director will provide weekly individual and group supervision to clinical staff.
The CD is responsible for overall functioning of Haven’s clinical therapy program and works with the Deputy Director of Program Operations as it pertains to outreach services and outcomes. The CD is expected to understand funding sources and program requirements in order to maintain and grow the agency.
The CD will provide file supervision and compliance monitoring which includes reviewing charts and signing off on intake assessments, treatment plans and termination/aftercare plans.
The CD will facilitate on-going communication with referral entities to address program opportunities and the needs of our community.
The CD will assist with the preparation of proposals for new grant applications, as needed.
The CD will collaborate with the Executive Director and the Deputy Director of Program Operations to ensure the Comprehensive Community-Based Youth Services Program (CCBYS) meets State and Federal standards and outcomes.
The CD will monitor and review statistics for clinical services such as monthly reports related to treatment outcomes, billing, survey results, referrals, intakes and discharges.
The CD will attend all scheduled Board meetings and provide a clinical report.
The CD will attend community meetings when appropriate.
The Clinical Director will identify and/or facilitate development opportunities and trainings for staff within the budget.
The CD will conduct group supervision and relay relevant information to the team.
The CD will coordinate the onboarding of new clinical staff and interns.
The Clinical Director is responsible for supporting all aspects of agency fundraising including, but not limited to: Haven’s annual benefit and the annual Paddle Party.
Licensed Clinical Social worker or clinical license in a related mental health field
Three to five years of experience with client care, administration responsibilities, and supervising staff at varying levels of clinical skills
Experience working with children, adolescents, and families
Experience and confidence identifying and implementing evidence-based practices
CADC or experience in working with substance abuse is preferred
Experience working in crisis setting with individuals and families
Ability to work flexible hours
Understanding of Haven’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances
