The Senior Programs Accountant primarily performs accounting functions for a variety of service programs which include early childhood and intervention services, home visiting, and youth prevention programs. The Senior Programs Accountant serves as the contract contact for these programs, prepares regular reports for government funding grants and reviews budget forecasts for these programs.
Senior Programs Accountant responsibilities:
Complete monthly and quarterly financial reports for assigned programs.
Review and monitors quarterly financial reports from service partners.
Serve as the primary fiscal contact for assigned government funders.
Prepare monthly invoices.
Review and reconcile various monthly reports.
Reconcile accounts receivables detail to general ledger.
Assist program staff with annual budget preparation and analysis of funder and internal agency budgets.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Five years of business experience required.
Knowledge of and proficiency in finance/accounting principles.
Non-profit reporting experience a plus.
Strong skills in utilizing Microsoft Office 365 with an emphasis on Excel required.
Experience using accounting financial software preferred.
Excellent analytical skills required.
Able to work independently on multiple projects/tasks and meet deadlines.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
