We are now hiring for an full-time Bilingual School Based Counselor to join our Midway Team!
This position is for the school year (September 1-June 30).
Essential Job Functions:
Social Worker or Counselor will provide individual, family and group counseling for high school boys at local public school, and also to students at two elementary schools.
In-office time for planning and supervision included in schedule.
Provides a full range of case management, counseling, advocacy educational, and related services within a 37.5 hour work week.
This position requires flexibility in adapting to school schedule and needs.
Good at establishing professional relationship in a school environment.
Learns and utilizes agency and community resources.
Assesses community conditions affecting clients to identify resource gaps and problems.
Ability to deal with crisis situations and work well with other school staff and parents.
Represents and interprets programs of agency in community.
Ability to do concurrent recordings with clients in session.
Works effectively with diverse staff and service population.
Performs comprehensive, in-depth assessments for a variety of program services.
Maintain an ongoing liaison with community agencies and other resources to meet students needs; refers parents and students to agencies when appropriate
May serve on regional or agency-wide committees.
Master's Degree in Social Work or related field from an accredited college or university required.
LSW, LPC required.
LCSW, LCPC preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience required.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
CPS training in Anger Coping/CBITS preferred. Needs experience in creating and leading psychoeducational/behavioral workshops and group series.
Strong background in school-based counseling,
Family Systems and Solution Focused Brief Therapy necessary.
Ability to think proactively, creatively, and take initiative appropriately.
Worker needs to possess excellent clinical and organizational skills, be able to work independently, and be able to meet agency productivity and documentation expectations.
Must have access to a vehicle, proof of insurance and valid driver’s license to perform essential job functions.
