What we’re looking for:
The Accounting Manager is responsible overseeing the accounting area, collaborating with accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, Greenheart Shop and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. The Manager oversees financial, operational and regulatory reporting of Greenheart International according to terms of governance and service level agreements.
Some things you might do as our Accounting Manager:
Identifies operational efficiencies and cost effectiveness and recommends business process improvements including project plans and timelines
Develops annual departmental goals and plans and aligns them with the organizational goals
Ensures that each department is fulfilling its role as a business partner to support all areas within Greenheart
Identifies and monitors performance standards and measurements to analyze departmental progress in meeting key performance indicators
Identifies departmental opportunities for improving policies and procedures; reviews
Reviews and provides support in preparation of monthly, quarterly/annual financial statements preparations for Greenheart International entities in accordance with local reporting requirements
Reviews and ensures that monthly transactions have been accurately processed and journalized according to pre-determined deadlines and policies and procedures to ensure proper consolidation into books & records for Greenheart.
Assists with the annual financial audits and coordinates preparation of all necessary supporting documentation from respective departments including review of management responsibility letters, audit schedules and answer any inquiries made by the auditors
Act as Liaison between Finance and other department in related matters including budgeting, monthly variance explanations, etc.
Reviews and analyzes any changes in local laws, accounting pronouncements, reporting etc. and how it impacts Greenheart’s consolidated financial statements, current practices and procedures. Coordinates efforts to take necessary corrective action/implementation
Establishes and maintains financial operating practices and procedures to ensure adherence to proper internal controls for all reporting
Oversee and Perform Balance Sheet Reconciliations
Record and submit for approval all standard, recurring and adjusting applicable journal entries not directly entered by other department members
Assist AP Supervisor , Sr Accountant , and Payroll Manager with any journal entries, if needed, and approve journal entries
Calculate Overhead allocations for each Program on a monthly basis and recording the general overhead allocations for monthly financial closing.
Run all the company financial statements, prepare variance explanation and present to the CFO
Run any requested account detail for Program Directors in analyzing program revenue, expenses and activity
Review and analyze general ledger accounts, including pass-through expenses and reimbursable accounts as related to partner and customer billing
Oversee the coordination of Grant activity and ensure monthly drawdowns from DOS related to grant program participants
Complete Grant budgets and meet quarterly with Grants Program Director to monitor transactions and make any appropriate adjustments
Oversee and perform of monthly bank reconciliation and analysis for Green heart Operating and wire accounts
Assist in review and integration of program billing and invoicing in the Multiview Financial Software
Assist in the banking Portal management for business expense activity- generate reports for Program Directors and Sr. management
Approve outgoing domestic and international wire transfers
Oversee the completion of all Shop and Wholesale Accounting Procedures and Activities - including the input of all Greenheart Shop batch reconciliation and deposits
Oversee and perform GHS monthly bank reconciliations
Supervise process and assist AP Supervisor with GHS and Wholesale accounts payable
GHS and Wholesale financials and any related analysis of accounts (P& L and B/S)
Oversees processes and procedures related to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions and keeps the Accounting cycle running smoothly
Reviews, updates and revises- any Finance approval- all Accounting Policies and Procedures as necessary, including general procedures as well as custom procedures for Multiview Financial Software
Assists AP Supervisor and Sr. Accountant in responding to any issues outside the normal, typical and routine daily tasks of AP and AR before escalation to VP of Finance
Assist CFO with the budget preparation, approval and management of Financial Support
Functional back up to the Payroll, AP Supervisor
Perform other duties and assist accounts payable as needed
Some qualifications you should have:
Bachelor’s degree (required)
10-12 years in financial management experience with at least five years in financial management position with a profit or non-for-profit organizations.
Preferably five years of interactions with senior leadership and senior management in an international environment.
Minimum five years of experience in reporting in financial, tax, budget and regulatory reporting in not-for profit industry is desirable.
Advanced computer skills with expert proficiency in QuickBooks
Desire to work as a member of a dynamic and productive team
Excellent written, editorial, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Professional presence and composure and ability to maintain confidentiality
Exceptional ability to remain flexible, work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
