POSITION DESCRIPTION The Senior Manager of Development will be directly responsible for the fundraising efforts of JTB in order to meet and grow it’s almost $500K annual budget. The Senior Manager of Development will report to and support the Executive Director in all revenue-generating initiatives for the organization, spearhead specific aspects of development (including fundraising events and grant writing), and deepen and expand JTB’s efforts to track and connect with our alumni. Additionally, they will identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward current and prospective donors in expanding their financial support of JTB. Create a strategic approach for growth and expansion in our fundraising which includes major gifts, corporate donations, fundraising events, and grant solicitation;
Manage an integrated alumni and donor tracking system through Salesforce that will track JTB alumni, engage JTB’s strong alumni base, and streamline JTB’s management of development, tracking, and metrics;
Identify and secure sponsorships, grant awards, and in-kind support for JTB, including, but not limited to, printing, production and event management;
In partnership with the Executive Director, as well as the Development Committees on the Board and Associate Board, plan and execute annual fundraisers and pledge drives;
In close collaboration with the Executive Director, manage external communications through social media, donor and constituent communications, and monthly updates to partners; develop creative communication projects in line with organizational goals and within allocated budget;
Create the organization’s Annual Plan;
Oversee the creation of annual development materials, marketing materials, and acknowledgment letters;
Accompany the Executive Director or Board Members to funding pitches for donors;
Manage and support the JTB Associate Board;
Complete other duties as the Executive Director indicates to assist the other directors, employees or board members in completion of their responsibilities; and
Work subject to the direction and supervision of the Executive Director and Board of Directors of JTB, who may modify duties or assign such other duties and responsibilities as necessary and conducive to the best interests of JTB.
BA required, MBA, CFRE and/or professional affiliations highly desirable;
Experienced grant researcher and writer preferred;
Minimum of three years’ experience in non-profit fundraising and development preferred;
Demonstrated ability to continuously meet and exceed fundraising/sales targets or goals;
Superb time management and communication skills, both verbal and written;
Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on JTB’s success;
Critical thinker with problem-solving skills;
Ability to oversee multiple projects independently;
Proficient in MS Office, Salesforce, GiveSmart and Social Media engagement; and
Some travel required.
Telecommuting is allowed.
