Provide supervision for Foster Care Case mangers assigned to the team to ensure that children, their parents, and foster parents are provided services consistent with sound service planning and satisfactory permanency outcomes. Provide supervision to case managers to ensure essential job functions are performed. Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
1 Orient, train and supervise Case Managers assigned to the team and complete performance evaluations at appropriate intervals.
2 Ensure that Case Managers assigned to the team are adequately prepared for: ACR's and Court Hearings. Attend ACR's and Courts in the worker's absence.
3 Conduct Pre-ACR Staffings at least once a month prior to the scheduled ACR and include: natura parents, age appropriate children, foster parents and other relevant individuals. Ensure that the Service Plans meet DCFS Standards.
4 Review and approve all Case Assessments, Service Plans, Permanency Plans and Visitation Plans and ensure that each is prepared in a timely manner and meet agency standards.
5 Ensure that referrals are made aggressively and redundantly in efforts to engage the natural parents and provide a path for reunification.
6 Review outside referrals and ensure that adequate follow-up takes place.
7. Submit clinical referrals to the Clinical Director.
8 Coordinate initial placements and follow-up placements with the Licensing/Recruitment Supervisor and ensure that all services are in place in accordance with agency deadlines.
9 Document, respond to, resolve disposition and follow-up on unusual incidents in a timely manner (within 48 hours).
10 Provide "Supervision" for each Case Manager assigned to the team by formally staffing each child on the caseload in one setting, on a monthly basis.
11 Arrange the Executive Director in response to critical alerts from ACR. Arrange Critical Decision Staffing with the Executive Director, as needed.
12 Review all case files monthly on SACWIS and insure that documentation is adequate and current and meets contractual obligations.
13.Review all case files quarterly and ensure that documentation is adequate, current and maintained in Administrative Procedure #5 format.
14 Ensure that the following goals are met for members assigned to the team in accordance with contract stated goals: satisfactory ACR's, satisfactory Court Attendance/Court, Permanencies, Eligibility, Health works enrollment, Pre-ACR Invitations, Placement Stability, and Children, Natural Parents, Foster Parents; satisfactory service rating.
15 Ensure that cases are prepared for legal screening in a timely manner.
16 Interview prospective employees.
17 Monitor workload (quality, quantity and timeliness)
18 Insure that skill proficiency meets contractor, Unity and COA standards through a combination of individual and group training.
19 Monitor employee behavior to insure compliance with federal and state labor laws, professional codes of ethics (if applicable) and Unity Code of Ethics.
20 Maintain a professional relationship with all employees which allows objective supervision and constructive criticism.
21 Supervise Case Aide schedule and performance as assigned.
22. Actively participate in the agency's PQI Plan for a minimum of eight (8) hours.
Master's degree from an accredited university in a human service field. (Must be able to provide official transcript upon being hired)
Training And Skills
Two years case management experience in foster care.
Ability to help others gain skills and confidence to address the issues and problems they face.
Ability to work collaboratively with other personnel, and/or service providers or professionals.
Ability to set limits and intervene appropriately to meet the needs of persons served.
Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change.

Pass a CANTS (Child Abuse and Neglect Tracking System) check.
Pass a Criminal Background check.
Possess and maintain a valid Drivers License and possess safe and reliable transportation.
Possess and maintain adequate Liability Insurance for the vehicle.
Possess a Child Welfare License.
Ability to supervise effectively.
Ability to provide for the individual needs of children.
Ability to provide help and support for foster parents of children in placement.
Ability to work effectively with parents of children in placement.
Ability to locate and utilize resources for all individuals in the child welfare system.
