Erie Neighborhood House, a progressive social service agency serving the Chicago metropolitan area and dedicated to promoting a just and inclusive society, is seeking an Outreach Coordinator to oversee the Chicago Housing Authority’s (CHA) outreach and diverse marketing in target Chicago community areas and the City of Chicago’s initiative to provide housing resources and referrals.
Reporting to the Director of Community Resources and Education, the Outreach Coordinator’s basic job functions are to oversee the day-to-day activities of program grants, to ensure contract goals are met, and to conduct community outreach and education in target community areas regarding CHA’s public housing programs and other housing resources and services.
Facilitate monthly CHA workshops in target community area and coordinate to ensure contract goals are being met.
Responsible for data integrity and quality control to ensure program’s efficiency and contract compliancein consultation with the Director and program staff;
Work with funders and partners to ensure consistency on messaging and communications strategy.
Responsible for overseeing all outreach (flyering, social media, networking) and community partnerships in target community area
Responsible for ensuring data collection and submission in data management systems pertaining to community area.
Create and maintain partnerships with community organizations and other entities on a monthly basis.
Assist walk-in and telephone client inquiries; process and submit housing applications and complete follow ups.
Prepare and submit monthly outcome reports and program evaluations to funders and the Development Department as required on time.
Assist with preparation of proposals.
Maintain relationships with media outlets to promote housing programs and services through print, TV, and social media.
Collaborate with other Erie programs and departments on programming and agency-wide related events/activities.
Collaborate with other organizations and Erie partners on advocacy events.
Participate in all funder meetings, department and program meetings and training as scheduled.
Meet with Program Manager and Coordinators on monthly basis to forge collaboration & problem solve
Provide case management services to participants who seek housing and public benefits assistance through
Support in rental counseling and housing referrals for participants
Assist community members with completing public benefits application, re-certification and counseling on monthly basis
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in a social service related field required.
Two to three years experience working in a social services or related field required.
Proficiency in English and Spanish language; bilingual required.
Presentation skills and effective communications skills required.
Demonstrated commitment to social justice and sensitivity to challenges of the Latino and immigrant communities.
Ability to work Saturdays and evening hours and travel to off-site locations.
Excellent organizational and communication skills; professionalism; ability to multi-task and pay close attention to detail; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Publisher.
