The Foster Parent Recruiter (FPR) will enhance and strengthen an active network of foster parents through the strategic engagement and selection of qualified candidates. The primary duty of the FPR is to recruit and retain qualified foster families in the Chicagoland area including the north, west and southern suburbs who are willing to take in youth of different ages, those with special needs and youth in need of emergency care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Build and enhance an active network of foster parents
Develop and execute foster home recruitment, orientation, training, and retention plan that reflects outcomes of increased capacity and retention
Develop and implement a marketing and advertising strategy
Conduct initial approval activities and skill development with potential foster parents
Represent the agency at recruiting events
Schedule orientation/information meetings 2-3 times per month
Organize and schedule at least 2-3 recruitment tables/month at training or other community meetings
Record and maintain the statistics necessary to measure the effectiveness of various recruitment efforts
Assist the Program Director and Licensing Team in matching clients with new foster homes
Establish and maintain community contacts, including but not limited to: schools, community organizations, faith-based organizations, service groups, and other appropriate resources
Function as the point of contact for prospective foster families
Submit required monthly and quarterly reports to DCFS
Other duties as assigned
We are looking for:
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or, or similar degree from an accredited university;
2-3 years of recent experience in child welfare/foster home licensing.
Previous intake and placement experience preferred.
Must have a Child Welfare Employee Licensure in good standing.
Must pass the Foster Care Licensing standards (Rule 402) within three (3) months of employment.
Proficiency using computer programs, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Valid Illinois driver's license;
Personal vehicle may be required dependent on program assigned. No history of child abuse or neglect.
