The Program Coordinator reports to assigned Program Manager and is accountable to the Director of School Partnerships. The Coordinator will also work closely with and be accountable to the Principal at the designated school. The Coordinator will support the growth and development of a partnership between the college and Community School, including the teachers, community members, students and families.
This is a grant funded position that is dependent on continual funding.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create and implement all communication links between the designated school and Columbia College Chicago for project needs.
Work closely with the principal to build relationships with the school community school administrators, faculty, students, parents, and other community members to facilitate growth of the Community School Project.
Develop and facilitate an ongoing Community School Advisory Committee to provide leadership density and shared decision making that will guide and inform the Community School.
Participate in strategic planning processes to determine needs and strategies to meet those needs as appropriate for the Community School
Follow plans and implement programming to meet the needs of the Community School and assess progress to continuously improve programs.
Oversee the implementation and coordination of site-based services, including oversight and supervision of contractual and part-time staff.
Provide administrative oversight for the project at the school level, including basic and routine office protocols.
Maintain accurate budget/accounting records for all project-related expenses and furnish reports to as needed.
Participate in and contribute to the activities of CS which further the mission of the project.
Recruit and communicate regularly with parents and community partners to maximize participation to achieve project objectives.
Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned or required.
Detail-oriented, flexible, dedicated and responsible individual with experience in academic program development.
Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders
Strong ability to organize and prioritize information quickly and strategically.
