Traffick Free is a faith-motivated organization that provides the greater metropolitan area of Chicago with tools and sustainable programs to combat human trafficking and transform the lives of survivors and communities. Over the years, Traffick Free has educated the thousands about the proximity of both sex and labor trafficking. We show our high value on collaboration by participating with several task forces to tackle the macro-level factors that lead to human trafficking.
In addition to educating the public, Traffick Free operates a drop-in center that welcomes cis and trans-females age 18 and over who have engaged in commercial sex. We understand that due to several personal and societal factors, women may be engaged in commercial sex oftentimes under the control of a trafficker or for lack of other viable options for survival. Traffick Free operates a model that removes many traditional barriers to services like intrusive assessments and drug screenings. At the drop-in center, women can access showers, rest, computers, hygiene products, food, clothing, transportation assistance and referrals to other resources. Through this model, we have built trustworthy relationships w...ith women that lead to meeting their self-described goals including stable housing, job attainment and increased self-esteem.
