With nearly 3 million people helped this year, ILAO seeks a Development Manager to manage its fundraising activities, and be a part of its small but mighty team of professionals, who are committed to simplify the law so people can seek justice. With the Executive Director and the Board of Directors, the Development Manager will create and implement a sustainable financial plan for the organization. The Manager will ensure adequate financial support to meet ILAO’s strategic goals and vision. The Manager will develop and fulfill specific plans and campaigns to cultivate and engage individuals, organizations, and foundations.
Individual Donor Cultivation and Support - 40%
With the Executive Director, set annual goals and plans for individual giving growth
Plan, implement and evaluate individual giving campaigns
Identify and pursue opportunities for expanded and new relationships with individual donors; manage individual donor relationships and communications
Study and understand individual donor needs and preferences to better design campaigns and improve donor experience
Support Executive Director, Board of Directors and Young Professional Board in their efforts to raise money
Ensure the CRM is optimized to meet the organization’s needs and its data is consistent and accurate
Grants, Foundations, Corporations and Organizations - 25%
With the Executive Director, set annual goals for foundation and corporate giving; track and report on progress
Identify and pursue opportunities for new and expanded partnerships with potential foundation, organization and corporate supporters
Manage the status of grants and contracts; track pending and completed proposals, and reports; ensure all deadlines are met
With the Executive Director, develop and execute plans for raising funds through alternative methods, such as fee-for-service, contracts, or revenue sharing agreements
Annual Events - 25%
With Executive Director and Board of Directors, set goals for annual event revenue and strategies; track and report on progress
Manage planning, sponsorships, execution and evaluation of ILAO’s annual benefit and the Young Professional Board’s annual event
Identify and pursue other opportunities for generating revenue via events
Professional Development and Teamwork - 10%
Participate in and contribute to ILAO’s decision-making and evaluation activities
Follow trends in philanthropy on a local, statewide and national level
Exceptional written and verbal communications skills, interpersonal skills and ability to manage volunteers
Extremely organized and detail oriented
Ability to juggle multiple projects while meeting all deadlines
Ability to work independently and move projects forward with urgency and cooperation
Works well on a team - flexible, responsive and supportive
4-7 years of non-profit development or marketing experience, or equivalent fundraising experience
Demonstrated success developing and implementing giving campaigns
Experience with constituent relationship management (CRM) systems, preferrably Salesforce
Additional Salary Information: Range is $68,000 - $80,000 depending on experience
