The Anti-Cruelty Society has opened its search for a Bark in the Park Team Builder. The Team Builder is responsible for growing the number of teams and walkers participating in the 2020 Bark in the Park 5K Walk and Party in the Park. Scheduled for May 9, 2020, Bark in the Park features Chicago’s original dog party. The walk brings together families, dogs, veterinarians, and other pet friendly professionals to help raise funds to ensure that all animals receive compassionate care. This is a temporary part-time position from January to May. Hours and work environment are flexible.
Essential Job Functions
Recruit, support, and steward corporate and community teams and individuals.
Actively recruit teams and individuals to participate from area businesses, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, religious groups and community groups, etc.
Establish relationships with new participants and renew and enhance professional relationships with existing participants over the phone, via email, and through in-person meetings and presentations.
Help team captains with participant recruitment and fundraising events.
Manage team and individual pages on TeamRaiser, the peer-to-peer software platform.
Prepare and distribute fundraising and recruitment materials: team captain letters and emails, team captain kit, recruiting tips, fundraising tips and ideas, etc. Manage creative and effective tools for recruitment and fundraising.
Work with the marketing team to manage social media outreach for team captains, team participants, and individual walkers.
Support walk leaders in hosting support events, including kick-off events, post events, third party fundraising events, team builder events etc.
Help coordinate in-kind donation program to provide prizes for participants.
Send communications about raffles, competitions, and incentive prizes to encourage fundraising and participation.
Develop and successfully deliver Bark in the Park presentations to corporate and community groups throughout the Chicago area.
Answer general inquiries about the Bark in the Park.
Actively participate in set up and day of walk support and team activities.
Other related duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
3-5 years of experience with gift solicitation, sales, or marketing.
