Position Purpose: The Education Specialist is responsible for presenting educational programs in classrooms and at community events to heighten awareness of sexual violence issues and available resources for students and the general public. This role directly impacts the safety of our children and various communities.
Present sexual violence prevention programs to school personnel and designated students
In collaboration with other staff members, engage in public speaking opportunities specific to sexual violence and public policy issues
Provide professional training and public education for other service providers on issues of sexual violence
Maintain ongoing relationships with all model schools and youth organizations within the local service area
Maintain all statistical records for multiple funding sources relative to direct services provided
Maintain comprehensive and varied statistical records as required
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or in a human services-related discipline (preferred but not required)
Minimum of two years of experience in educational programming or a related field
Effective oral and written communication skills
Well-developed public speaking skills
Strong interpersonal, relationship building skills
Knowledge of sexual violence (preferred but not required)
