The Director of Business Development is responsible for the overall new business acquisition strategy throughout BBB's entire service area to include SMB's, Mid-Market, Enterprise level businesses.
Duties & Responsibilities: include the following, but are not limited to:
Responsible for overall new business revenue strategy
Directly manages inside and outside sales as well as independent contractors
Responsible for self-generating new business and assisting Major Account Representative on face to face calls
Provides continual evaluation of sales processes and procedures. Responsible for suggesting and implementing methods to improve area operations, efficiency and service
Assist major account rep on face to face sales calls
Forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly sales revenue streams accurately
Identify, develop, and implement effective sales plans, strategies and goals
Responsible for reviewing sales team member's performance and administering performance reviews for skill improvement
Regularly evaluate inbound lead volume, quality and overall close ratio and report results directly to marketing
Is available for employees by providing appropriate coaching, counseling, direction and resolution.
Ensures employees have appropriate training and other resources to perform their jobs.
Creates and maintains a high-quality work environment so team members are motivated to perform at their highest level
Responsible for the daily management and operations of the Business Development Team to include the development, analyses and implementation of staffing, training, telemarketing, scheduling and reward/recognition programs
Works as a member/leader of special or ongoing projects that are important to area/process improvement
Cross functionally collaborates with other departments on sales strategies and innovative initiatives to drive additional revenue
Sets the bar high by leading by example showing integrity and character in all circumstances
Maintain and continuously educate the team on BBB Accreditation benefits
Research and identify other organizations that may result in strategic partnerships for the BBB to drive new revenue
Attend Executive Committee, Board and Leadership Meetings
Attend networking events to drive new business and/or potential partnerships
Attend BBB staff-related events as needed
Maintain the business development area at all times

5+ years of Sales Management experience
Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategy
Technical Sales skills
Proven experience in customer relationship management
High level of interpersonal skills and ability to handle sensitive information and documents with confidentiality
Ability to develop and maintain credible relationships with staff, as well as BBB members
Strong coaching and development skills
Excellent communication skills
