Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Prevention Specialist facilitates health focused curriculum to youth in a school classroom setting with emphasis on Substance use prevention. Facilitates and prepares workshops and presentations for parents, guardians formal and informal community leaders. The Prevention Specialist provides youth with important life-skills training and support for growth and development. Must work well independently as well as part of a team. Must have the ability to connect with youth and understand child/adolescent development.
Bachelor degree in a related field required
2 years experience working with youth in a community or school setting
Experience in PowerPoint and public speaking
Experience with speaking on the risks and consequences of substance abuse
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Valid driver's license and ownership of or ready access to an insured vehicle
Clear driving record
