The DuPage Foundation is seeking a Director of Communications who will be responsible for advancing the strategic direction of the DuPage Foundation's marketing initiatives and management of the organization's brand. Reporting to the President and CEO, this position will increase public awareness and build the Foundation's position through strategic communications to donors, potential donors, professional advisors, non-for-profit partners, community leaders, and the media. Additionally this role will be responsible for the development and oversight of a broad range of marketing activities that will drive awareness and engagement of the Foundation through various media channels.

Develop and execute a comprehensive strategic marketing plan and budget
Raise awareness of the Foundation's activities and services through a variety of print, media and digital formats; media relations; advertising; and event marketing
Write, design, proofread and distribute print and electronic collateral including annual reports, newsletters, direct mailings, presentation decks and e-blasts
Collaborate with graphic designers and print vendors to refresh a wide variety of traditional and digital media including advertisements, banners, social media, business cards and presentations
Measure the effectiveness of all marketing initiatives and collaborate accordingly
Evangelize and govern the Foundation's brand standards and ensure that the identity of the brand remains relevant and fresh
Cultivate relationships with media contacts and secure speaking engagements for staff and volunteer leaders, positioning them as community experts
Create and maintain robust libraries of donor and grantee stories, photos, videos and press releases
Work with the leadership team to determine and execute marketing needs for key initiatives including Arts DuPage, Bright & Early DuPage and the Next Generation Initiative
Serve as primary staff liaison for the Marketing Committee
Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Marketing or related field
Minimum of five years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in designing and implementing communications strategies and campaigns
Not-for-profit experience preferred
Persuasive writer and storyteller
A digital native with professional experience across the technology landscape including proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, social media listening, content development and data analysis
Highly organized, creative and self-motivated with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to build trusted relationships and be an effective ambassador for the Foundation among diverse constituent groups
Can work additional hours beyond regular business hours
Knowledge of the DuPage County community and philanthropic landscape a plus
