Holy Family Ministries is a safe haven where children excel academically, grow spiritually, and expand their life experiences. Our four educational programs include Holy Family School (K-8); Little Learners Academy (Pre-K); Adventures in Learning (out-of-school-time program); and The Peace Exchange (teen leadership development and peace program). Our programs operate out of the Holy Family Ministries Center in North Lawndale. This half-time position will work out of our business office in Northbrook.
Job responsibilities include:
1) General Development Department Support. Under the supervision of the Director of Development, assist in various departmental functions which may include special events, mailings, donor tracking, and individual donor acknowledgements.
2) Grant Writing. Under the supervision of the Director of Development, assist with the preparation and submission of grant applications to foundations, corporations, churches and other religious organizations, etc. Duties may include research of new funding sources; statistical research for use in grant applications; preparation and submission of applications; grant compliance and reporting; and writing of acknowledgement letters.
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
General development experience.
Minimum 3-4 years of grant proposal writing experience.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Detail oriented and organized.
Ability to understand budgets as they relate to proposals.
Has a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle on a daily basis. Willing to travel to the North Lawndale site and other locations as needed.
