The Citizens Utility Board (CUB), one of Illinois’ premier consumer advocacy groups, is seeking a field organizer to help with our grassroots outreach work. What you’ll do at CUB:
Represent the organization at events across Illinois, interacting with a wide range of people while learning about natural gas, electric, and telecom policies and how they intersect with issues of sustainability, affordability, and equity.
Identify and establish relationships with promising organizations, elected officials, municipalities, and businesses to promote CUB’s services.
Schedule and conduct presentations to consumers and decision-makers;
Staff informational tables and conduct one-on-one utility bill consultations with individuals;
Stay up-to-date on ever-changing utility policies and programs in Illinois;
Assist with pre- and post-event logistics and reporting;
Work with other CUB staff to create a strategic outreach plan and identify what methods work best at the grassroots level;
Develop and implement strategies for moving consumer contacts up the ladder of engagement. …and other duties as assigned.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to work some nights and weekends.
Experience with Microsoft Office.
