The Research Manager is responsible for providing coordination, administrative, research and analytical support for the NBCRNA Evaluation and Research Department (ERD) activities. Provides administrative support for the Evaluation and Research Advisory Committee (ERAC) and subcommittees. Oversees meeting logistics, document sharing management systems and collaboration tools, including the Reference Library, and provides overall maintenance of SharePoint sites with meeting materials and information regularly. Provides support with data collection/retrieval, conducts statistical analysis, and generates reports for the ERD. Assists in project planning and management, and ensures that pre-established work scope, study protocol, and regulatory requirements are followed. Manages research projects and coordinates research subject participation, coordinates details with vendor, and manages all aspects of research study on a day to day basis.

Administration and Coordination
Coordinate and provide administrative support for the activities of the ERAC and associated Subcommittees, including planning in-person meetings and monthly conference calls, preparing agendas, meeting materials and minutes.
Participates in ERAC and subcommittee committee meetings as a staff liaison to facilitate remote and in-person meetings.
Manage operational aspects of the ERD including policy manuals, protocols and related procedures.
Edits and proofreads written materials, prepares responses to queries from staff, volunteers and stakeholders in a professional and timely manner.
Supports Director of ERD in operational work and other duties as assigned.
Developing data analysis plans, including documenting the process, identifying metrics and data sources; putting together data dictionaries describing the variables names and definitions; and creating codebooks with information on variable labels and coded values.
Pulling data from primary or secondary data sources from the data warehouse and mining the data.
Identifying trends, analyzing and interpreting results from various data sets and sources based on data analysis and evaluation plan.
Cleaning and blending data, conducting data analysis using statistical techniques.
Creating data tables, charts and infographics, interpreting findings, and creating presentations and summary reports for the ERD, ERAC and Subcommittees as well as external stakeholders.
Project management/program evaluation
Developing and maintaining detailed project plans and timelines to monitor and track progress.
Organizing and prioritizing projects in accordance to mission and strategic goals of the organization.
Developing and interpreting evaluation plans using Logic Models to assess program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
Managing changes to the project scope, project schedule and identifying resources needed;
Establishing and maintaining relationships with volunteers, stakeholders, and consultants/vendors.
Manages SharePoint site content and the Reference Library, including conducting literature searches and organization of materials.
Plans and coordinates the development, initiation and submission of research study protocols to Institutional Review Boards (IRB).
Assists with data collection, recruits, instructs, and coordinates research subjects according to study protocol.
Ensures the smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of research and data collection activities; acts as the primary administrative point of contact for participants that have research questions, Coordinates the day-to-day activities of any investigators specifically engaged in the carrying out of research/clinical protocol, as appropriate to the position; may perform aspects of research protocol, as required, in accordance with specified program objectives.
Implements quality control processes throughout the conduct of the project to ensure protocol is running appropriately.
Monitors the progress of research activities; develops and maintains records of research activities, and prepares periodic and ad hoc reports, as required by investigators, administrators, funding agencies, and/or regulatory bodies.

Foundational knowledge of statistics to compute and understand descriptive and standard inferential statistics with demonstrated ability to use statistical analysis programs, analyze quantitative and qualitative data and ensure accuracy of results. Extensive working knowledge of SPSS and/or SAS highly desirable.
Demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office programs (e., Word, Excel, and Outlook) and proficiency with database applications and SharePoint.
Ability to work independently, as well as in groups, to problem-solve and manage sensitive and confidential matters.
Expected to work cooperatively and interact in a positive manner with all internal and external stakeholders, remotely and in-person.
Ability to organize own work, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively.
Familiarity with online data collection systems and distance research participant recruitment and engagement.
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics, biostatistics, data analytics/science or related discipline preferred.
Minimum three years’ experience in data analysis, large data sets, advanced statistical analysis, and reporting required.
Minimum three years’ experience in human subjects’ research coordination and working with independent/academic IRB preferred; research project management experience a plus.
Minimum three years’ experience in project management preferred; program evaluation experience and using Logic Models a plus.
Knowledge and training in human subject research, protection and ethical issues preferred; Current CITI certificate a plus.
