Title: Outreach Manager
Reports to: Commercial Director
Basic Function: Under the supervision of the Commercial Director, the Senior Outreach Manager is responsible for commercial and industrial company relationship building, while connecting companies to the many resources offered by GSDC, the City of Chicago and the State of Illinois. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to make connections and build relationships with a variety of business owners, community leaders and other stakeholders.
Principal Job Duties and Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to the following:
Participates with Commercial Director and Commercial Division team in development of an informed outreach strategy and accompanying outreach plan that direct impacts commercial and industrial development on the greater southwest side of Chicago.
Works as an integral part of the Commercial Team, attending regular team meetings, cross training on programs and offerings, and supporting other team members as needed.
Participates in mandatory Local Industrial Retention Initiative (LIRI) contract trainings and update meetings to build camaraderie and knowledge base around the LIRI program and economic development in Chicago.
Coordinates, and/or attends community events such as networking events, business fairs, community development information sessions, tabling events, community forums, etc. as a representative of Greater Southwest Development Corporation.
Ensures that productivity is achieved and given voice in reports completed and sent to the Commercial Director.
Assures that contract deliverables are executed fully and submitted timely.
Regularly reviews effectiveness of efforts against goals. Works with the Commercial Director to adjust the outreach tactical plan and ensures that the outreach effort is productive.

Four-year college degree preferred, but not mandatory
Solid verbal communication in English and Spanish.
Must be sensitive to the diverse community needs and be able to engage with diverse populations, while using excellent interpersonal skills.
Experience with City of Chicago contract execution is preferred.
Intermediate knowledge and experience working with computers, including word processing and data entry programs; spreadsheet experience a plus.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Comfortable with community-based work (visiting business owner’s onsite, attending meetings/functions etc) and office/administrative work.
Able to effectively organize and present information in group settings, both formal and informal.
Able to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Self-starter.
Knowledge of small business/manufacturing company development is highly desirable.
Non-Exempt. Salary to commensurate with experience. Robust compensation package offered.
