CFL Initiative is seeking an energetic and ambitious individual looking to grow with the organization. The Business Services Representative assists with the day-to-day delivery of CFL Initiative's programs to achieve program goals by providing services to businesses, unions and partners that result in trained and placed job seekers.
Maintain high quality & compliance: Achieve a standard of excellence with work processes and outcomes, honoring organization and funder policies and all regulatory requirements . Strive for high customer satisfaction and excellent customer service, going out of the way to be helpful and pleasant, making it as easy as possible on the participant.
Identify opportunities to develop new partnerships with Chicago-area businesses, associations, and others specifically in the high demand, high growth sectors.
Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with business partners, union locals, and other employer-related groups.
Conduct outreach and engage targeted businesses and unions to develop employment opportunities for CFL Initiative Participants, job referral and training grant opportunities.
Educate businesses and unions about local workforce development programs and services, including but not limited to job referrals, pre-screening, training grants, and apprenticeships.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to companies to participate in employer training grant programs. This includes, but is not limited to, assisting with creating training plans and identifying available grants based on company needs assessment.
Develop employment opportunities for CFL Workforce & Community Initiative customers by identifying and engaging appropriate businesses that meet the starting wages and benefits goals of the agency. Match customers to job opportunities; refer and promote these customers to the potential employers.
Represent CFL Initiative at and actively participate in partner and funder meetings and related projects as identified, including but not limited to, CCWP BRED meetings and Next Gen Sector Partnership.
Perform regular site visits to businesses to assist with retention of both the business customer and the worker.
Maintain constant communication with career counselors and service providers to prepare customer for job referral and placement, communicate customer performance on interviews and in the workplace.
Meet monthly goals for employer contacts, job orders obtained, customer placements, and On The Job Training Placements.
provide input and ideas to enhance program services and generate new revenue streams.
Input data in an accurate and timely manner into the required databases. Maintain up to-date files and documentation. Complete agency and funder reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Research and stay informed on current industry hiring job requirements, and screening trends. Regularly attend Chicago Jobs Council Working Group meetings, Frontline Focus training, and other trainings as available.
Work with team members on the continuous improvement of program processes and procedures.

Bachelor's degree plus at least two years sales-related experience.
Empathy: Culturally aware and sensitive to a variety of populations and backgrounds.
Sales: Conducts cold calling and outreach, Work with employers and assist them with applying for grants and training, refer and track candidates to open job positions.
Professionalism: Extremely discreet and able to professionally handle confidential, sensitive and personal information.
Communication: Solid presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Problem solving: Strong problem solving and attention to detail required.
Time Management: Must have excellent time management skills, be able to work independently and efficiently by staying organized, managing time and tasks with minimal supervision.
Adaptability: Must be able to adapt quickly to new or changing situations and environments.
Embodies leadership characteristics with a vision of growing and developing alongside agency's strategic plan.
Computers: Strong computer, typing and data entry skills are required. Experience using all Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint programs required. Experience with Efforts to Outcomes, Illinois Workforce Development System, Career Connect or similar data tracking systems a bonus.

Full time access to a car required; valid Driver's license-local travel required County wide.
Occasionally evenings and weekends required
Familiarity/experience with WIOA and other related workforce programs preferred but not required.
Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.
