PADS of Elgin is a not-for-profit organization that provides emergency overnight and day shelter services to homeless men, women and families in crisis. We are currently seeking a motivated and highly organized Grants Coordinator.
Assist the Executive Director with all grant writing, securing current grants and conducting research for new sources of funding from individual, foundations and government prospects
Responsible for all monthly, quarterly and annual grant reporting including all financial reports
In conjunction with the Development Coordinator, maintain regular correspondence with foundations and donors and assist in building and maintaining those relationships
All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Excellent interpersonal and intercultural communications skills; excellent oral communication skills with ability to participate in grant presentation when necessary
Excellent written communication, research, and organizational skills
Ability to write knowledgeably and enthusiastically about the PADS mission, programs and initiatives and be able to articulate how the organization makes a difference in the community
Must be computer literate - experience with grant databases preferred
Self-motivated, works well under pressure and is able to handle several projects at one time
Ability to meet all grant and grant report deadlines
Able to use good judgment and identify changing program needs as well as being a team player
Must be available to work in the office 25 hours per week. Days and times can be flexible.
