OVERVIEW: We currently have an opportunity available for a Mental Health Professional located at our Behavioral Health Care Division Office. Under the supervision of a Children’s Mental Health Supervisor, provides community-based clinical case management, individual, family, and group counseling, service linkage, and therapeutic support services to children, adolescents, families and adults who are experiencing mental health and/or substance abuse disorders. Services provided are in-home and office-based.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Interviews or conducts initial behavioral health service screenings, secures background information, and provides information and referral services in order to determine client needs and appropriateness of agency/program services.
Under the clinical direction of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), assists in the development of a comprehensive behavioral health treatment plan for clients receiving behavioral health services.
Assures that all services identified and authorized are provided, monitored and documented in accord with agency standards of care.
Assures that all clients are served within agency time-frames and in coordination with schools, hospitals, primary healthcare providers, and other agencies involved in the child/family’s life.
Education:This position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health discipline including social work, psychology, or counseling or be a licensed practical nurse license pursuant to the Illinois Nursing Act of 1987.This position requires the use of a personal auto, valid driver’s license and motor vehicle report acceptable to the agency’s broker and verification of insurance.
Experience:Minimum of six months of experience working with children in an educational or clinical setting. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
