The Director of Advancement is responsible for leading Wolcott School’s highly successful fundraising program and developing close relationships with donors. Fundraising goals for the program are close to $2 million annually and include annual campaign, designated, endowed and capital giving. This management-level position is a key member of the school’s administration and reports to the Head of School.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and management of Wolcott School’s fundraising activities. As a member of Wolcott’s Administrative Team, Responsibilities include:
Work with the Head of School, Director of Development, Board of Trustees and community leadership to develop fundraising growth strategies
Oversee the execution and implementation of fundraising strategies and initiatives.
Create and implement cultivation and stewardship plans for key donors and prospects
Manage and grow donor recognition programs including the creation of recognition opportunities, events and communications
Create development strategies for specific donor segments including parents, grandparents, alumni, foundations, and corporations.
Identify prospects for designated giving needs and manage the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship process
Manage all solicitations and perform select ones
Develop a comprehensive planned-giving and endowment program
Manage donor relations across all segments.
Report on and analyze campaign progress, results and gift trends
Work with the Administration to create campaign messaging and materials
Qualifications & Skills
A minimum of 5-10 years professional fundraising experience, preferably in an education environment
Knowledge & experience with Raiser’s Edge preferred
Major gifts expertise and proven track-record of meeting fundraising goals
Skilled at developing relationships with donors; motivating volunteers to meet goals
