Provides appropriate laboratory data to clinical staff. Work with health care providers in ordering and interpreting routine lab tests.
Analyze body fluids such as blood, urine and tissue samples to determine appropriateness for testing.
Participates in Quality Improvement activities of the health center.
Applies scientific method in problem solving and assists in the evaluation of new methods and techniques. Assures that quality control criteria are met, and adheres to as established in the laboratory policy and procedure manual.
Reports to the laboratory director as appropriate, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Supervises Lab tech assistants, and phlebotomist. Identifies and communicates staff development needs.
May be required to work Saturday, evening hours and/or may be required to work at a different site.
AA degree, BS a plus from Accredited Medical Laboratory Technology Program. Certification by accredited laboratory organization
