Northern Illinois Food Bank Job Title Description: Digital Media Specialist Classification: Exempt Reports To: Director of Individual Giving
Summary/Objective The Digital Media Specialist will support online initiatives that generate awareness and contributed revenue for Northern Illinois Food Bank. This role will be responsible for utilizing and maintaining online tools including email and event software (i.e.:Active Campaign, GiveGab), the Food Bank website (WordPress), and digital advertising (Facebook, Google AdWords and Google Grants). The person in this role must be organized and technical, with a love for analytics. This person will work closely with our Marketing Communications team to assure all online initiatives compliment overall communication strategy for the Food Bank as well as provide digital marketing to support client awareness and program support.
Duties and Responsibilities • Implement email campaigns in collaboration with direct marketing agency and Marketing Communications team and provide reports. • Maintain Food Bank website including writing web content, updating site structure, utilizing SEO to ensure the site ranks high, identifying web enhancements and optimizing conversions. • Manage the Food Bank’s Google Grant Adword account including developing campaigns and reporting results. • Manage Google Analytics reporting on website activity, digital advertising viewer behavior. • Develop, execute and report the results for social media advertising campaigns soliciting donations, volunteers, promoting fundraising events, marketing to those the Food Bank serves, and other awareness-building initiatives. • Update the Cross-Channel Communications Calendar with schedule and audience segmentation of digital communications to ensure all communications are being captured and team is aligned in messaging. • Keep abreast of new technologies, their opportunities for enhancing communications outreach and increasing contributed revenue, and any risks such technology presents. Work Environment This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and must work a minimum of 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status.
Position Location This position is based out of our West Suburban Center (Geneva) location.
Travel No travel is required for this position, with an exception of learning and developmental conferences that may be offered.

Required Education, Skills, and Experience • Bachelor’s Degree in digital marketing, communications or related field. • One to two years of experience managing website communications, developing email marketing campaigns or digital advertising campaigns. • Experience working with online platforms for websites, email marketing and digital advertising. • Working knowledge of Search Engine Optimization. • Proficient in Microsoft Office. • Detail-oriented and organized team player with ability to prioritize and execute multiple projects. • Excellent written and oral communications skills. • Passion for the mission of Northern Illinois Food Bank.
Preferred Education, Skills, and Experience • Experience working specifically with Wordpress, Active Campaign, Qgiv, Luminate, Raiser’s Edge, Google Adwords, Google Grants a plus • Experience with coding a plus • Experience with design software and design capabilities a plus • Experience with creating and editing video a plus
