Life Span is a nationally known leader in the provision of services to victims of violence and their children. Our comprehensive services include legal representation, counseling, and advocacy. Our work encompasses such issues as police domestic violence, immigration, employment issues, sexual assault protective orders, mental health, teen dating violence, battered women as defendants and human trafficking. Our agency has two sites, one in Des Plaines and one in Chicago. Our multicultural staff provide services in English, Spanish, Tagalog, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Korean, Polish, Czech, and Russian. Our agency provides national leadership in policy work and legislation, and our staff has trained lawyers and other professionals in Illinois and across the country. Life Span is a not-for-profit agency founded in 1978; our services are free of charge.
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
Life Span currently has an Office Manager part-time position open for its Des Plaines office approximately 25 hrs/week. The Office Manager is responsible for coordinating the administrative functioning of the office. The ideal candidate will interact supportively with, and sensitively to victims of domestic and sexual violence. Qualifications include excellent organization and communication skills, the ability to work cooperatively with counselors, attorneys, paralegal staff and interns, and with clients in crisis. The Office Manager will have computer/Internet experience with expertise with Microsoft Office 365 applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook; have excellent written skills; will work well independently and pay close attention to detail. Gender based violence work experience is helpful.
