Are you looking to make an impact on children's health? The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is seeking a strong collaborator with VMware and Active Directory skills to design, manage, and monitor information systems, security, and processes; ensure up-time and disaster recovery capability; and provide strategic guidance relative to product roadmaps and technology advancements.
Some duties include: 1. Serve as a technical expert for enterprise systems to assist and provide guidance and support to the Systems Administrator. 2. Monitor and analyze system performance, system operations, storage, and resource utilization to gather operational metrics and statistics and recommend changes or improvements. 3. Proactively plan for system growth, hardware, and/or software updates to maintain a secure and supported environment. 4. Administer and support core VMware and Microsoft technologies. 5. Maintain the email security gateway, Exchange Online Protection filters, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, and mail flow rules. 6. Maintain inventory and asset configuration and provide and maintain detailed documentation of the enterprise IT systems. 7. Design, plan, implement, and test disaster recovery procedures for mission critical systems. Ensure availability of reliable backups. 8. Manage the co-location vendor relationship and resources. 9. Perform monthly WSUS security patching for all enterprise servers. 10. Manage Virtual Private Network (VPN) access. 11. Administer Salesforce platforms and Pardot Marketing Automation integration. 12. Lend assistance as subject matter expert to assess system requirements, applicability, and strategic fit of technology proposed as part of IT or user initiated projects. 13. Must stay abreast of emerging technologies, O365 roadmap, and the implementation of Microsoft technologies. 14. Research, recommend, and provide project scoping for new technologies and systems architectures (strategy and vision). 15. Prepare and present cost/benefit analysis on new and current technologies. 16. Assist in formulation and enforcement of technology policy standards, best practice, SOPs, and compliance (eg, PCI).
Qualifications Needed: 1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience required. 2. Certification in Cisco/Meraki, VMware, and/or Microsoft platforms highly desirable. 3. At least five years experience managing compute/operations infrastructure required. 4. Experience with Microsoft server platforms, Office 365 Ecosystem, Microsoft Active Directory, systems security administration, Powershell, and SAN technologies is required, as well as thorough knowledge of VMware and related technologies. 5. Experience maintaining and supporting Cisco UCS, JIRA, Salesforce, and DevOps desirable.
