Maternal and Family Health Services is a nonprofit health and human service organization working to improve the health of Pennsylvania women and children by offering programs that prevent disease and promote wellness. Founded in 1971, MFHS has delivered essential and preventative services that meet the ever-changing needs of women, children, and families by providing information, education, and quality care. Today, MFHS oversees and supports a network of health and nutrition center in 16 Pennsylvania counties, serving over 90,000 women, men, and children.
The next President & CEO of Maternal and Family Health Services is an established leader with a deep-seated commitment to advocacy and with experience serving in a President & CEO or other significant management role. MFHS’s purpose and impact should drive and excite this individual. Candidates for the position bring a sense of creativity, innovation and care for communities to the role. The successful candidate has a strong public policy and analytical acumen and will bring demonstrated skills in advocacy, government relations, and building support for a legislative/policy agenda. The President & CEO will bring inspirational leadership to the executive team and can wear many hats while thriving in a team environment.
The ideal candidate's background is highlighted by a track record of high-level program administration, business acumen, exceptional written and verbal communication skills, comfort and facility with public speaking, and a demonstrated presence within human service and philanthropic communities.
An advanced degree in Health or Business Administration or a related field, along with a minimum of ten years of experience in healthcare or a social services program, is required. Experience must include a minimum of seven years in a senior executive capacity with responsibility for managing a diverse operation. This position requires a track record of successfully working with a Board of Directors, community leaders, and government agencies and legislators. Excellent critical thinking, leadership, and communication skills are essential.
