KEES has been exclusively retained by The Night Ministry in its search for a VP of People & Culture.
The Night Ministry seeks a strategic, people-first, and visionary Vice President of People & Culture (VP) to join the Executive Leadership Team in a newly created role. Reflecting the organization's bold commitment to investing in its people and culture, the VP will help shape The Night Ministry's future by building an exceptional employee experience that strengthens the organization's ability to serve the community.
Reporting to President & CEO, Carol Sharp, the VP of People & Culture will champion the organization's new strategic plan. With a heavy emphasis on launching human-centered culture initiatives to strengthen engagement, collaboration, leadership, and accountability, the VP will guide all aspects of human resources. This includes talent management, organizational development, employee relations, and culture-building. Leading a team of two HR Generalists, they will partner closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to foster an inclusive, high-performing workplace where employees are empowered to advance The Night Ministry's mission

They will bring deep expertise in employment law, human resources strategy, and organizational effectiveness while serving as a coach, mentor, and valued resource across the organization. By aligning people practices with organizational goals and fostering a culture in which every employee can thrive, the VP will help ensure that The Night Ministry continues to transform lives for years to come.
Compensation for this position was recently benchmarked by The Night Ministry and KEES, and it is in the fair market range, reflecting a deeper investment in the People/ Culture/HR leadership. This position offers a competitive salary with strong benefits and is based on depth of experience. The salary range for this position will be in the $150,000’s with benefits, time off, retirement contributions, and a hybrid schedule of 4 days in office + 1 day remote. Given the executive level of this role, this position is expected to carry a cell phone and is eligible for partial reimbursement of monthly cell phone bills.
Requirements
- Demonstrated passion for and commitment to the vision, core values, and mission of The Night Ministry, coupled with an executive-level presence.
- A minimum of 8 years of progressive leadership experience in human resources, people operations, or organizational development, preferably within a social or human service organization.
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of employment law, regulatory compliance, and HR best practices from both a tactical and strategic viewpoint.
- Proven success in implementing structured performance management, managing employee relations, and resolving high-level organizational conflict with excellent judgment, strong integrity, and absolute discretion.
- Documented ability in building strong and productive work teams and leading complex personnel initiatives.
- Ability to relate to all levels of a highly diverse workforce, from front-line staff to the C-suite, executive committees, board members, and vendor partners.
- Career track record that shows stability with an organization and capacity to develop and nurture relationships, culminating in overall success.
- Bachelor's degree required, with a Master's/Advanced degree and/or technical certifications desired; SPHR, SHRM-SCP, or equivalent preferred.
